 The Family in 2011

Happy Holidays!

Another year has past, and again we can say it's been fantastic!!!! We have been so fortunate to keep so busy with all that's going on in our lives.... Jason has finally sold his trucking business and is now working for a local fuel company. It's been wonderful having him home so much, we have been taking advantage of all the time we can spend together.

We have taken up indoor climbing and working out at the local gyms...Jason has also convinced me to become a runner...I really didn't think I had it in me but I find that farm life has kept me fit enough to hold my own. Not to deceive anyone there were a few sore muscles after our first 3k run but amazingly I kept up or rather he slowed down!!! We now try and get in a few runs a week however with winter finally hitting our neck of the woods we have moved these extra curricular activities indoors! We are especially looking forward to spring so we can get back outdoors and explore the outdoor climbing community!

Most of Jason's summer was spend in and out of town training for his new job but he was able to sneak in a camping trip with all of our neighbours. I loaded up the bike and camping gear in the back of the pickup and hooked up the horse trailer and met Jason up in Logan Lake where we kicked back and enjoyed the great outdoors. Sidney took her pony and went on a few trail rides with the neighbours and Jay headed out with his biking buddies for several hours of off road riding! The weather wasn't the greatest and the tent blew over but all in all it was a memorable weekend :)

Again the kids spent most of their summer on the back of a horse or pony! Sidney has found a new love in eventing and has joined the BC barrell racing team and Taylor is now a confident rider she too is trying her hand at eventing. It'a always an exciting time watching their first time at a canter.

Another year at the fall fair...Sidney and Timone competed in the Equitation and Pleasure show again. They sure looked fantastic this season. She spent many hours getting Timone back in shape as he was so lazy from taking a few years off from the showring. Sidney was the youngest one competing this year so it was a tough show but she held her own and looked great out there!

The kids won several ribbons with their new angora goats and seemed to enjoy the day showing them off.

The final day of the fair was the eventing competitions. It was a super busy day with both Jason and Sidney in several events. It's always the most exciting day of the entire fall fair... The arenas are packed and you sure can feel the excitement in the air from both riders and horses. Even though we are happy the day comes to a close we look forward to next year when we can do it all again.
